HAIR & BEAUTY TIPS

Are you looking to get healthier, fuller looking hair in between your visits? Try these tips.
  • Use the right shampoo. Look for products that are right for your type of hair and target any problems you have. Try to avoid shampoos with harsh ingredients such as ammonium lauryl sulfate or sodium lauryl sulfate.
  • Conditioning after shampooing is an important step to keeping your hair soft, shiny, and manageable. You can choose a separate conditioner or a shampoo with built-in conditioner. Comb conditioner through for even distribution. Leave it in your hair for two to three minutes before rinsing out.
  • Allow your hair to air-dry whenever possible.
  • To minimize damage during blowdrying, start off on the lowest heat setting and gradually increase heat as needed.
  • When you're finished blow-drying your hair, switch to the cool setting , flip your head over and aim the nozzle around randomly for a few minutes. This will create pockets of air between your locks so they look extra full.
  • Most importantly, get your hair cut regularly every 10-12 weeks to keep hair healthy and to protect the ends from splitting.

Makeup Trends

Purples & Blues are In

Shades that brighten up your face are in. Lilac, lavender, purple, blue and pastel hues seem to rule this coming summer. A wash of shadow in these hues has replaced the ‘smoky eyes’ look. To get this look, opt for peaches and other pastel shades. Go easy on the amount of eye shadow you’re applying. A light, blurred effect is preferred over the dark, dramatic look.

Eyeliner Art

When it comes to applying eyeliner, fine lines and the understated look are old school. This season, eyeliner has gone graphic. Thick bold lines, angular shapes, straight flicks and lines extending outside the corners of the eye are all in. To get this look, it is important to have a smudge-free and long-lasting, jet black eyeliner. Experiment with gel based ones and liquid liners. White liners and blue liners are also a big hot this season.

The Golden/Bronze Touch

What is summer without a golden-brown, tropical tan? Give your face a gorgeous sun-kissed look by applying bronzer to your cheekbones. You can also opt for an apricot peach blush. Lightly brush some powder onto your forehead as well. To complete the look, apply a bit of bronze or golden eye shadow and your face will radiate a beautiful golden-brown glow.

Lip Shades

Bright, bold lip colors like orange, red and neons are making waves this season. Leave your lip glosses at home as matte lipsticks are in this summer. Bright lipsticks have a fresh summery feel and are great for adding a pop of color to your face. Bright orange seems to be particular favorite so far. Make this look work by dressing up in subtle, light shades and keeping your face makeup to a minimum.
